CUSTOM DESIGN POLICY 

CONSULTATION:

 

Custom Garment:

The initial consultation is via conference call, Facetime, or Zoom. During the consultation, we will go over the idea that envisions for your dream custom garment and quote. In personal meeting will follow the consultation and would be scheduled during the initial consultation.

All consultations and in-person visits are by appointment only.

There is a free consultation about your initial design. This is where we go over design concepts, fabrics, your style, and the event you need the design for. (This can be in person, via email, or via video chat.).

Upcycling/Alternations:

There is a free consultation about the garment you would like to upcycle or alter. This is where we go over the current garment you have and the NEW design concepts and personal style. For upcycling a garment, we will go over the additions to the garment that may include adding on a different fabric or appliques o create the desired look.

For alternations consultations we will go over the minor changes you would like to change to your current garment such as hemming, taking in, or letting out a pair of pants or skirt. Fixing garment zippers or buttons, and more. (This can be in person, via email, or via video chat.). 

 

BOOKING:

 

A 50% deposit of the total price is required during the in-person meeting after the initial consultation. We accept payments for custom orders via Cash, Apple Pay, and Zelle. The balance of the custom order is due when 24 hours before the desired date. The final custom garment will not give to the client until full payment has been made.

 

All garments are made one by one, custom to each client’s specific measurements, height, and color request. All our custom designs are hand sewn and made to order. Due to this, production times can vary. PLEASE NOTE: You must book and fill client-in take form at least 7 to 8 weeks before your desired date.

 

THE DEPOSIT WILL GO TOWARDS THE TOTAL PRICE. THE DEPOSIT GOES TOWARD FABRICS, SUPPLIES, MATERIALS, AND PATTERN MAKING AND THE CLIENT HAS NO CLAIM TO THEM. THEREFORE, DEPOSITS ARE 100% NONREFUNDABLE.

 

Upcycling/ Alternations:

 

There is a flat fee of $10 deposit of the total price is required during the in-person meeting after the initial consultation. We accept payments for custom orders via Cash, Apple Pay, and Zelle.

 

The deposit will go towards the total balance. Also, depending on the number of alterations garments, you provide, and the additions to upcycling garment prices vary.

 

For upcycling garments and Alternations please book and fill out the client intake form at least 1 week before your desired date. Due to this, the volume of orders and depending on the additions for upcycling garments.

 

RUSH ORDERS

Custom Garments:

For custom garments, we can provide rush orders with lead times of less than 8 weeks, but this depends entirely on our production schedule. All rush orders must first be approved, prior to ordering.

 

A $100 rush fee will be added to all custom garments if the desired date is BEFORE the 7 to 8 weeks time window. 


NO RUSH ORDERS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED WITHIN A 7-DAY WINDOW OF THE DESIRED DATE

Upcycling/ Alternations:

 

For upcycling and alternations garments, we can provide rush orders with lead times of less than 3 days, depending entirely on our production schedule. All rush orders must first be approved, prior to ordering.

 

Measurements/ Fittings

Measurements are taken to ensure the best fit possible; however, alterations are almost always necessary to ensure formal special occasion fit. We ask for your height, the height of your shoes, weight, typical bra size, typical pants size and brand, and typical dress size and brand.

 

Please wear or bring the undergarments and shoes that you plan to wear with the outfit to make sure the measurements are accurate.

 

Measurements for ALL custom garments will be taken during the in-person meeting.

 

 

THERE WILL BE MULTIPLE FITTINGS APPOINTMENTS THROUGHOUT THE DESIGN PROCESS. GENERALLY, THERE ARE THREE TO FOUR FITTINGS BUT CAN BE MORE UNTIL THE CUSTOM DESIGN IS COMPLETED TO YOUR SATISFACTION.

 

CHANGES

A custom garment made is a sort of evolutionary process, and sometimes it may be necessary to make changes to the design or construction to make it work. However, the earlier in the process these changes can be made the better, so if you are thinking that you would like to make a change, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can accommodate your request.  In most cases, if you let us know soon enough, we can make minor changes at no additional charge. If there is a major change which requires the purchase of more material or additional labor, there may be extra charges which will be agreed upon by both parties before the changes are made. However, once the production process has started no changes can be made.

CANCELLED EVENT

In the unfortunate event that your event is canceled, you are still responsible for the full total of the dress which should be paid no later then the Date of the event as recorded in our records. If the date is postponed, the balance will still be due by the original date provided. If the account isn't satisfied by then, the dress becomes the property of Meraki Styles and can be immediately sold for profit. (If a payment arrangement is needed, please keep in contact with us)

DESIGN PROCESS CANCELLATIONS

Orders may be canceled up to 48 hours after the order is originally placed. Rush orders can be canceled up tp 24 hours after the order is placed.

REFUNDS AND EXCHANGES:

There are no refunds or exchanges once you choose the style and place the deposit for your order. Once an order has been placed and payment has been made, all payments are applied to the making of your custom garment. We are not able to assume financial responsibility for changes in your personal situation. If you decide to cancel your order for any reason, you lose your deposit.

 

FAILURE TO PERFORM SERVICES

In the event Merahkii Styles cannot or will not perform its obligations in any or all parts of this Agreement, it (or a responsible party) will:

  1. Immediately give Notice to Client via the Notice provisions detailed in this Agreement; and

  2. Merahkii Styles will issue a refund or credit based on a reasonably accurate percentage of services rendered; and

  3. Excuse Client(s) of any further performance and/or payment obligations in this Agreement.
